10 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, cubed
3/4 cups apple cider
1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Put apples in saucepan and add cider. Simmer uncovered for 40 minutes over medium-high heat, stirring every few minutes to prevent sticking. Stir in sugar and spices, and continue to cook, breaking down the apples until you have a chunky sauce.
Serve hot or cold.
